I wonder if he is going to include the Quaker influence on Birmingham of that period, the chocolate manufacturing at Bournville, which was a purpose built industrial hamlet created for the workers,still standing today and looks already like a film set.They would have been on the edge of all this poverty and would provide some interesting additional characters and another perspective.
Chocolate products were transported in barges down the canal, the same canal used in season 1.
